Language Training

Want to enhance your language skills?

Global Arena offers a variety of language training services built around a needs-based training methodology. Each training program is tailored to fit the individual needs of the student. Our know-how, proprietary technology, in-house training coordinators and extensive network of trainers allow us to provide quality, individualized language training programs virtually anywhere in the world.

Our language training programs feature the use of the target language from the very first session to promptly immerse the student. They are highly interactive and may use a combination of methodologies, including presentation, discussion, case studies, skills practice and visual media and can be provided in person or using videoconferencing tools. All of language programs utilize immersion training as the most effective and quickest way to learn a new language. These programs are designed specifically for professionals who need to conduct business in a new language as quickly as possible. Following an initial assessment, the program is focused on the quick development of language skills for general daily use and specific to the learner’s field of business. This program provides an intensive learning experience, immersing the learner in the target language in a stimulating and comprehensive format.

One-on-one, duo and group trainings are available. The length of the sessions is customized to the students’ availability. Following an initial assessment, a program will be created and materials selected based on the students’ current language levels and desired areas of focus. Class sessions are typically held at the student’s office or home, or other location of their choice. Classes can be taken during daytime hours, evenings, early mornings, and on weekends.

The accent modification program applies to professionals who would like to enhance their communication skills commensurate with their professional capabilities. This program does not attempt to eliminate the person’s accent, but rather improve and maximize one’s ability to communicate effectively in a business setting. Based on a student’s needs and goals, our accent modification training programs are devised to integrate listening, speaking, reading and writing elements. Following the initial assessment, the program is created and materials are selected based on a student’s language level and desired areas of focus.

Teacher/Trainer Selection

Global Arena uses the following criteria when selecting teachers:

  • Native-speaker fluency in the teaching language
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • The equivalent of two years teaching experience (a minimum of 200 classroom hours)
  • Pedagogical knowledge and skills to teach the target language as a foreign language

Quality Control

Global Arena uses progress reports to assess students’ progress in class. Teachers complete initial assessments during the first visit with their students. Mid-program progress reports are completed half-way through their program and a final progress report is submitted by the teacher at the completion of their language training program. Periodic contact is made with the students throughout the language training program. Inquiries are made at different stages of the program in order to ensure the trainee’s satisfaction and learning progress.

We provide students and teachers with specific guidelines for evaluating a training program. Additionally, we have supervisory procedures in place to ensure that the guidelines are implemented and the most optimal learning experience is provided. In case of any issues, the project coordinator and the language training manager are responsible for handling any corrective measures to ensure the student’s satisfaction.
